The Family Law Company extends Truro office

Just two years since moving into our first Cornwall-based office, we have taken on additional space in Truro.

Our Truro premises has extended into the neighbouring office, more than doubling the floor space from 520 to 1152 sq ft.

Also based in Exeter and Plymouth, we set our sights on Cornwall in 2021 with the appointment of county-based Director, Lucy Theobald. Demand for local services rose quickly, and the team grew to include a Legal Executive and Paralegal, leading to the need for a dedicated space, and we opened our Walsingham Place office in September 2022.

Since then enquiries have continued to increase, from an initial five to around 30 a month, a 500 percent increase.

Director, Lucy Theobald said: “I’m delighted that the firm’s decision to open an office in Cornwall has proved so successful.

We realised we needed more room for our expanding team and fortuitously, the office next door was empty and available. Having this additional space means we can continue to grow as needed, so we can continue to meet the needs of local people.”

The team has now expanded to seven, the latest recruit being Legal Secretary, Rosalie Longman, who is just starting on her career in law. Rosalie spent seven years as a beach lifeguard predominantly at Perranporth beach for the RNLI, achieving a senior position managing a team and supporting people through challenging situations. After completing her law degree, she decided to specialise in family law, joining the Truro team in October.

With a total of 30 lawyers in the South West, we offer the full range of specialist family law services from divorce and finance, care, private law children cases, domestic abuse and legally aided cases to international abduction and cases involving HBV. The Cornwall office has plenty of experience with the particular needs of rurally based clients.

Lucy added: “As well as the expertise I believe we have an ethos that resonates with the region. This county is a very special place and the team are all local, understanding the needs of the people of Cornwall.”

Over the past two years, we have integrated well into the local community, holding local networking events and, most recently, sponsoring the Truro football team.
