The Family Law Company is set to host an interactive adoption conference in Exeter.
Designed to inform and update all practitioners working in this challenging area, the conference will take place on Wednesday 18th September, between 9am and 4pm at The Exeter Court Hotel in Kennford.
Speakers include;
- Sir Martin Narey
Recently appointed to lead the Adoption Leadership Board, the body set up by the Government to drive through reforms, monitor progress of adoption reform, and advise ministers on adoption policy.
- Shelagh Beckett
Expert witness, independent consultant and lecturer/trainer in fostering and adoption with particular expertise in attachments; sibling relationships; contact; placement options and outcomes. Shelagh has been Series Consultant to many programmes on adoption from 2000 to 2014.
- Anna Gough
Clinical Psychologist – a practicing clinician who provides evidence in family Court proceedings. Anna has an interest in Story Stem Assessment Profile to support adoption placements.
- Julie Shrimpton from The Family Law Company
A member of the Law Society Children Panel, Julie has a wealth of experience in care proceedings, adoption and grandparents rights. Julie will discuss the recent case law on adoption and trends locally.
- Representative from a Local Adoption Team – to discuss Local Practice and trends
The cost is £80 per person, with concessions for CAFCASS and Children’s Young People Services. Includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. CPD 5.5 points.
