In the first of our series of Everyday Bravery stories we asked mum and entrepreneur Amalia to share her story. When Amalia became a mother for the first time she suffered from post-natal depression and anxiety, when she had her second son it was compounded, and she ended up in hospital.
We asked her to share how she had to find her courage and everyday bravery to get through and what advice she would share with others who needed to find strength during a tough time.
For Amalia, finding her everyday bravery was about talking to others.
Talking to others can really help. It may not necessarily be about your personal situation but just to be able to feed off someone else’s energy can help to make that day and then the next day a little easier.
If you need to find that extra something to get you through the day, try to find someone to talk to, whether that’s your partner, a family member or friend at the school gate. Be brave and have that conversation rather than hiding away from the world.
At The Family Law Company every day is about relationships: building them, nurturing them, and helping people figure out how to handle the tough parts of them. We’re inspired by all kinds of bravery and that’s why we’ve made it our core value.
Now we’re taking this idea a step further by celebrating others who are living everyday bravery. If you know someone who is brave – not just the superhero kind of brave but everyday brave – you can nominate them here: Everyday Bravery – The Family Law Co
