At the Family Law Company, we understand it can be hard to fund legal fees, particularly after the demise of most legal aid
That is why we try to offer a range of affordable options to our clients, including a free initial half hour meeting to discuss your case and your funding options.
Range of lawyers
We have over 20 specialised family lawyers working at The Family Law Company across Exeter, Plymouth and Taunton with a variety of hourly rates. We also have a range of lawyers in each of our specialised teams, so that no matter whether your matter relates to finances, children or domestic abuse, we will have a lawyer whose specialism and rates can be tailored to you.
Litigation loans
We are able to provide clients with information about litigation funding and provide assistance in obtaining this.
Monthly instalment payment plan
Our clients are given the option of spreading the cost of their legal fees through monthly instalments.
Legal aid
Legal aid is still available in certain types of cases such as domestic abuse (subject to the conditions of the Legal Aid Agency) and we continue to be committed to offering legal aid when appropriate.
Help with mediation
Legal aid remains available for mediation if you are financially eligible. Should you qualify for legally aided mediation you will also qualify for legal advice under the help with mediation scheme.
Subsidised hourly rates for those who would previously have qualified for legal aid.
Since cuts were made to legal aid, it is only available in cases where there is evidence of domestic abuse, child abuse or in care proceedings, domestic abuse or child abduction cases (and some other very specific areas).
For those cases where legal aid used to be available before the cuts, we can offer reduced hourly rates so long as you are financially eligible.
