Yes, if you meet certain criteria.

Firstly you have to provide evidence that you have been a victim of domestic abuse within the last 5 years (domestic abuse does not always have to be physical; it includes psychological and emotional abuse). Go to https://www.gov.uk/legal-aid/domestic-abuse-or-violence  for more information about how to obtain this evidence.

Secondly you have to meet certain financial criteria; legal aid is only available for those on low incomes. Your financial eligibility will be assessed by one of our legal aid specialists once you have obtained evidence of being a victim of domestic abuse.

If you require legal aid to apply to the Court for a non-molestation order you do not need to provide evidence of domestic abuse, you only need to meet the financial eligibility criteria.

The Family Law Company can assess you for legal aid at you first appointment. Even if you do not qualify, your initial appointment is always free.
