New Plymouth based Director for The Family Law Company

Experienced family law solicitor Amelia Davey is the newest Director for the specialist law firm.

She has over 15 years of experience in family law with a particular interest in children matters. Prior to joining The Family Law Company, Amelia worked in Private Law and Private Children in the Bristol area, before moving to Australia in 2016 where she became Head of Family Law at a firm in Perth. She is dual qualified in England and Wales and Western Australia,  

After returning to her home town of Plymouth in 2023, she joined The Family Law Company’s Private Children and Domestic Abuse team as Senior Associate Solicitor, where she has impressed with her expertise and dedication to supporting vulnerable clients.

Joint-MD Rachel Buckley said: “I am thrilled to announce that Amelia has joined the TFLC board as a Director. This promotion is another exciting step in our succession planning and reflects our commitment to strengthening and building our Children and Domestic Abuse Response Team.

“As Director, Amelia will play a vital role in supporting the entire business but with a particular focus on the growth and continuing success of the Plymouth office.”

The Family Law Company has had a dedicated office in the city for around 15 years, managing over 2000 private and legally aided family law cases every year including divorce and finance, unmarried couples cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, domestic abuse and children law.

Amelia added: “I am thrilled to be appointed to the board as a Director. I’m really looking forward to further developing our Plymouth team, growing our local connections and helping support many more clients.”

The promotion brings current numbers at the firm to 15 Directors and 70 members of staff with 34 lawyers working within specialist teams.
